Bhubaneswar: Even though February has just begun, the joyous spring seems to be far behind as residents of many towns in Odisha are already feeling the heat due to a sudden surge in day temperature.

The readings from the regional meteorological department suggested that while the maximum temperature in the state at this time of the year should be somewhere between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius, mercury has shot beyond 33 degrees Celsius in many places.
