Puri: ASI team to inspect Jagamohan roof work today

Puri: A technical team of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will visit Puri today to inspect the construction of the roof of Jagamohan– the prayer hall adjoining the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Jagannath temple.

The team will hold a meeting at Puri ASI office to prepare the final blueprint for the repair of Jagamohan roof. The committee will prepare the design, drawing and estimate of the roof. The work will start after the design is approved. As beams and pillars used to safeguard the Jagamohan, the roof will also be secured in the same manner.

Director General of ASI has already approved the proposal for protecting the roof of Jagamohan by mending the cracks on it as per the instruction of the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court.
