Cuttack: The promo of upcoming Odia film ‘Agastya’ starring Anubhav Mohanty and Bengali beauty Jhilik Bhattacharya in the lead roles was released in the presence of film’s cast and crew here today.
The film, scheduled to hit the screens during Raja festival, will see Anubhav playing a complex character for the first time.
“Though the time will tell how successful will be this film but I can tell that a film like this has not been made earlier in our film industry, especially the genre of the movie. It is big challenge for all of us as we had tried to show something new in all aspects starting from fights to choreography, song and performance wise apart from technicality,” said the ‘Gapa Hele Bi Sata’ actor.
“I am playing a character who can give everything to fulfill his commitment. Since his childhood, his father taught him that one should not run away from one’s commitment no matter how adverse the circumstances may be. He is fighting against his anger and living with our film’s tagline ‘Fear is the biggest burden but fearlessness is the biggest weapon’,” explained the actor-politician.
Speaking about the film, producer Akshay Parija said “We are trying to give a good Odia cinema for our audience in order to woo them to theatres again. We have tried it by making a good film with a good story, good performance and technical perfection. Through this film, we are trying to offer a wholesale entertainment which the audiences have been waiting for quite a long time.”
The banker-turned-film producer also said that ‘Agastya’ is named after the famous sage who was known for his tremendous control over his anger. This character has been inspired from him.
“With this film I am presenting Anubhav bhai in a complete new avatar, and hope the audience will love it. This film has everything what our audiances look for during a Raja release,” said film’s director R. Muralikrishna.
And, last but not the least, Jhilik, who was feeling grateful and happy working with Anubhav, said, “This is a huge film in all aspects and we wish the audience would definitely love it during Raja festival.
And, in this film, I am working with actor Akash Das Nayak for the first time though I had already worked with Anubhav in ‘Jaga Hatare Pagha’.”
The film also boasts of veteran actors like Mihir Das, Priyanka Patnaik, Minaketan, Manoj Mishra, Munna Sethi, Salil Mishra. Music of the film has been given by Prem Anand.
