Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) today increased the expenditure limit of the candidates for the upcoming Panchayat Elections in Odisha scheduled in February next year.
As per the new guidelines, a Zilla Parishad candidates’ expenditure limit has been increased to a maximum of Rs 2 lakh from Rs 1.5 lakh while for Panchayat Samiti member and Sarpanch the expenditure limit has been set at Rs 80,000 respectively.

Notably, 6,805 panchayats will go to polls along with 853 Zilla Parishads.
