Bhubaneswar: Keen to take the maximum possible mileage from the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Odisha on June 2 to mark the completion of two years of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, saffron leaders in the state are on their toes to ensure that the visit is a grand success.
As part of its efforts to spread the word about the good work done by the NDA government across the state, the state BJP today unveiled posters and leaflets with catchy slogans like ‘Agauchhi Bharata.... Ageiba Odisha' (India is moving ahead..... Odisha will move too) and 'Badaluchhi Bharata... Badaliba Odisha' ( India is changing...... Odisha will change).
Besides highlighting the achievements of the NDA government, the BJP campaign ahead of the Prime Ministerial visit also seeks to put the state government in the dock on several issues.
“Taking note of the failure of the state government in the proper implementation of the Centrally sponsored schemes in Odisha, the state BJP has organised the Sankalp Samavesh at Balasore on June 2 in which Prime Minister would talk about the manner in which these schemes would be successfully taken up in the coming days. To accomplish this mission, BJP leaders and workers would visit each booth and house in the state to apprise the people of the achievement of the NDA government and create public opinion against the misrule of the state government,” BJP state vice president Samir Mohanty told media persons here.
Countering the charge of the BJP leader, BJD spokesperson Amar Prasad Satpathy said the state government has undertaken a series of Centrally aided welfare programmes for the people in rural areas.
“The state government has decided to utilise the Central funds allocated to the Panchayati Raj department by the 14th Finance Commission in the supply of drinking water in the water scarce areas of the state from this year. Besides, the state government has completely utilised the Central funds earmarked for the panchayats. Considering this, the allegation of the BJP against the Odisha government is not correct,” he said.
