Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a woman and her daughter were hacked to death for allegedly practising witchcraft in Ragadisahi of Telkoi in Keonjhar district.
The deceased have been identified as Kalabati Dalanaik (55) and her 15-year-old daughter Seema. Kalabati’s husband Bhubana and son (22) have also been injured after the family was attacked by a youth late on Thursday.
The accused identified as Rinku Sahu is absconding after the incident.
According to reports, Rinku was mentally disturbed over poor health condition of his family members. It is suspected that Rinku attacked Kalabati’s family suspecting them to be practising black magic.
Kalabati’s husband and son, who have been injured in the brutal attack, are now undergoing treatment at Telkoi hospital and their condition is said to be critical.
