Locals block road demanding ex gratia for kin of bus accident victim

Bhawanipatna: Locals today blocked Thuamula Rampur- Bhawanipatna road by placing dead body of a bus accident victim demanding compensation for family of the deceased.

After the dead body was pulled out from under the bus which overturned yesterday near Balighat, tension erupted and irate locals staged the road blockade.

To bring the situation under control, local police officials reached the spot and began pacifying the agitators, according to the latest report.

More than 30 passengers were injured in the mishap and are undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.
