Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre case, sevayats and police personnel on duty at the Lingaraj Temple today got involved in heated arguments creating an odd scene at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
Though no police complaint has been lodged yet, Dhiren Sahu, a police constable deployed at the temple premises, allegedly rebuked sevayats and devotees in filthy languages and made indecent gestures at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
The constable yesterday also misbehaved with some sevayats and devotees leading to an hour-long tense situation in the temple premises.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said the matter will be probed once a police complaint gets filed.
