Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today said the Cyclone Kyant will have no threat to the state.

“The Cyclone Kyant will pose no threat to the life and property in Odisha as it will cause sporadic rainfall in some parts of the coastal districts. The situation today is much better for Odisha as compared to yesterday. As per the information by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) yesterday, the cyclone was expected to hit the south of Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. But as per the IMD release today, the cyclone is moving towards further south. Going by the trend of the cyclone, there will be no threat to Odisha as it is moving away from its coast. There will be cloudy weather in the coastal districts today while some parts of the coastal districts will have sporadic rainfall tomorrow,” Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradipta Mohapatra told media persons here.
