Joda: A security guard manning the IDBI bank ATM located in Joda of Keonjhar district was injured critically when two miscreants attacked on him with a knife while trying to loot the ATM machine late last night.
The security guard, identified as Lambodar Mahanta, suffered the knife attack as he barred the two miscreants attempting to rob the ATM.
Mahanta was initially admitted to the Champua hospital and later shifted to the Keonjhar district headquarters hospital as his condition worsened.

Narrating the horrific incident, Mahanta told newsmen, “At around 1 am, while I was thinking about dozing off, the two persons forcibly entered the ATM kiosk and asked me to leave the place. When I declined to oblige, one of them hit on my head with a sword and then thrusted a sharp weapon into my chest. As I screamed for help, the two miscreants fled the spot along with another person who was waiting outside the ATM kiosk."
He further stated, "With black clothes put on, the three miscreants had covered their face with masks."
