3 of family take ill after consuming mushroom in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Three of a family in Kusumita village of Keonjhar were hospitalised in a critical condition in the wee hours today after allegedly consuming mushroom collected from a nearby forest.

Villager Sudarsan Giri, wife Raimani and father Laxman complained of loose motion, nausea and vomiting at around 11 pm yesterday. Benudhara Giri, Sudarsan’s brother said, “When their condition became critical, we brought them to the district hospital.”

Sudarsan had collected some mushroom from the forest which was cooked at his home. After consuming the mushroom three of the family complained of uneasiness.

The hospital sources said the trio’s condition is stable at present.
