Bhubaneswar: All the roads which were sealed by the Commissionerate Police after the massive explosion at a petrol pump near the Raj Bhawan were reopened from today.

The roads were reopened from 7 pm today after the completion of salvage operation at the filling station, the Commissionerate Police informed through a tweet.

However, the incident site will remain out of bounds for public, the CP said, adding, "All safety operations have been completed. We thank citizens for cooperating with us during the entire operation."

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Controller, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) Odisha, Ruab Ali had said LPG leakage caused fire and subsequently triggered the massive explosion at the petrol filling.

He said the leakage occurred when the LPG was being stored in the CNG chamber using Nitrogen. Around 4.5 tonnes of LPG was in the chamber when the blast occurred, Ali added.
