Bhubaneswar: A day after a massive explosion at a petrol pump in Bhubaneswar, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) on Thursday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 8 lakh for the family of those killed in the mishap.

As per reports, one person has died so far in the explosion while several others sustained multiple injuries in the incident. Another person is also reportedly missing after the incident and the matter is being investigated, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi told reporters earlier today.

Besides the ex-gratia, Indian Oil Corporation Limited has also announced to provide a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the critically injured and Rs 1 lakh to the injured.

The compensation package has been announced as per the direction of the Union Minister (Petroleum and Natural Gas), Dharmendra Pradhan, IOCL said in a statement.

In a related development, the roads near the petrol pump which were sealed after the mishap were reopened from 7 pm today. However, the mishap site will remain out of bounds of public, informed the Commissionerate Police.
