Bhubaneswar: A student at Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 in the Capital city tested positive for Covid-19. Vice-principal of the school Upendra Singh informed that his father had earlier tested positive for the virus.
"His father had informed us at around 10 pm that his son had tested positive for the virus. We immediately restricted his visit to the school." Singh said.
The student had attended exam paper on Saturday. He had no symptoms. Only his report came positive while mother tested negative, he added.
All the precautionary measures are being taken to prevent further spread. BMC authorities have also been informed, he added.
The student has been kept under home isolation. His contact tracing is underway, the vice-principal said.
Meanwhile the BMC authorities will conduct test on other students.
The civic body will also carry out covid-19 test of all students and staffers at all Kendriya Vidyalayas in the city.
