Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Umashankar Dash and Prateek Singh assumed charge as the new DCsP of the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, respectively on Monday.

At a special function held at Commissionerate Police building, Umashankar Dash took charge as Bhubaneswar DCP from Anup Sahoo.

“It is proud moment for me to be a part of Commissionerate Police. At the same time, it will be a challenge as my predecessors including Anup Sahoo have done their duties remarkably well and it is now my job to carry all the good work and initiatives forward. I will try my best to live up to the expectations,” said Umashankar Dash.

Dash further stated that enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines and keeping the entire force safe will certainly be challenging.

Prateek Singh assumed charge as Cuttack DCP today taking over the baton from Akhilesvar Singh.

“Cuttack is a historic as well as important city. I am happy to have got the opportunity to work here,” said Prateek Singh.

Both Prateek Singh and Umashankar Dash got their new assignments in Commissionerate Police after Odisha government had effected a major IPS reshuffle last week.
