Bhubaneswar: Crime Branch STF Seizes Brown Sugar Worth Rs 1 Crore, 1 Held

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch seized brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore during a raid near Baramunda bus stand area here in the capital city late on Friday night.

According to sources, one person identified as SK Hasim Bux of Balasore district has been arrested in this connection.

During the search operation, brown sugar weighing 1.170 kg was seized, sources in Crime Branch said.

"The STF, so far this year, has seized 22.168 kg of brown sugar and registered 24 cases against drug peddlers. Moreover, the STF has arrested as many as 44 persons in connection with the drug trading this year," informed Soumendra Priyadarshi, Crime Branch Additional Director General (ADG).
