Bhubaneswar: Two youths have reportedly jumped into the swelling Daya river near Nuagaon on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar in the last two days.

As per the reports, a youth on Thursday plunged into the Daya river after parking his bike near Nuagaon. A learner’s driving license, issued in the name of Madhusudan Khuntia of Kapilaprasad in Bhubaneswar, was recovered from the bike’s glove box.

However, nobody could identify whether the missing youth was Khuntia or not.

An auto-rickshaw driver, who claimed to be an eyewitness to the incident, said that the bike-borne youth suddenly stopped near the river and jumped into it.

Though fire fighters were called, who immediately launched a rescue mission, they failed to trace the youth (till this report was published).

On Wednesday, another youth had also reportedly jumped into Daya river from the same spot. He is still missing.

Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
