Bhubaneswar: Odisha Crime Branch on Saturday brought Akash Pathak’s private secretary David Peters under the purview of the ongoing probe on the alleged Tata motors recruitment fraud against the IFS officer's son.

Sources revealed that David is now being quizzed by a team of Crime Branch officials at an undisclosed place after he was recently brought from Pune to Bhubaneswar.

The investigating agency will try to ascertain David’s association with Akash Pathak. David’s interrogation holds key for the investigating agency probing the Akash Pathak’s financial transactions, his travel history and alleged fraud committed in the name of Tata company.

It has been learnt that David was staying with Akash most of the time. Hence, he might spill the beans in front of the investigating agencies on Akash Pathak’s links with several other persons, sources said.

Moreover, David was also attending and fixing Akash Pathak's meetings with several people. It is expected that the Crime Branch will unearth more details on Akash Pathak after the interrogation.

The Crime Branch has already arrested Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi on the charges of collecting money on behalf of Akash Pathak from several youths who were promised jobs in Tata company.

Earlier, Panigrahi was expelled from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for indulging in anti-people activities. It was for the first time in the history of BJD that a leader was suspended on the anti-people allegations.
