6 Killed In Lightning Including Brother-Sister Duo On Raksha Bandhan

Bhubaneswar: At least six persons including a brother-sister duo were killed in lightning strikes in separate incidents in Odisha on Monday.

As per reports, one Asha Behera (12) of Manda village in Balasore district had gone to tie rakhi to her brother Sushant Dalai on the occasion of Rakhsa Bandhan. Both Asha and Sushant were having meals when lightning struck their house. Asha and Sushant died while two others sustained critical injuries in the lightning strike.

In another case from Nilagiri in the district, a farmer died after being struck by lightning.

Three other deaths were reported from Bhadrak district. The deaths were reported form Chandbali Mathasahi, Sashtri ghat and Paitipur village under Govindpur panchayat of the district.
