Apart from the DSP’s family members, a former block chairman in Athagarh has also tested positive for COVID-19.

Mishra further informed that during contact tracing and surveillance, swab samples of 125 persons were sent for COVID tests. All the swab samples except 17 have come negative, he added.

“House-to-house surveillance is underway and swabs of persons, who have come in contact with positive cases, will be collected tomorrow,” Mishra added.

Earlier on June 29, an inspector-in-charge of a police station in Athagarh had tested positive for COVID-19. The IIC was not well for a week and was on leave. He was staying in CDA sector-9. Later his swab samples were collected and the results came out positive for COVID-19.
