Koraput: Within 24 hours of the suspension of two Block Development Officers (BDO) in Odisha, one more BDO from the State has been sacked on charges of corruption.

The State Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued a letter regarding the dismissal of Dillip Kumar Pattnaik, BDO of Laxmipur in Koraput district.

Accused of corruption, Patnaik was earlier suspended and issued show cause notice. However, he reportedly didn't submit his response even after repeated notices. Later, the department finalised to dismiss him from the government service.

The State Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department on Saturday suspended Jharigaon BDO Debendra Bahadur Singh Dharua on charges of corruption in toilet construction under Centre's Swachh Bharat Mission.

Several beneficiaries of the scheme had reportedly accused Singh of misappropriation of money entitled for toilet construction and lodged police complaints against Singh.

This apart, the Jharigaon block Junior Engineer (JE) was also suspended for alleged irregularities in the construction work.

Besides, Chitrakonda BDO Lariman Kharsel was also suspended for alleged misappropriation of money entitled for the construction of toilet in Malkangiri district.
