Bhubaneswar: A three-tier security arrangement has been made for the monsoon session of Odisha Assembly starting tomorrow (September 29).

As per official sources, around 25 platoons of police force will be deployed to look after all the arrangements.

Senior officials including Odisha DGP Abhay and Intelligence Director and Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi reviewed the security arrangements today.

Speaking to media persons, DGP Abhay informed about three security aspects- inside Assembly is looked after by Intelligence Director and Commissionerate Police is in-charge of the security at all gates inside and outside the building. “I am satisfied with the security arrangements made for the upcoming Assembly Session,” he said.

No congregation or protest, or political agitation will be allowed as per present COVID-19 guidelines valid till September 30. "We will see what changes are made in new guidelines to be issued by the Centre in coming days," Abhay informed.

The senior Odisha cop further stated that as per provision, the COVID-19 test of all the security personnel to be deployed inside Odisha Assembly, has been completed and Commissionerate Police is conducting COVID test of its personnel as well.

Police Commissioner, Sudhanshu Sarangi stated that all necessary arrangements for the upcoming Odisha Assembly Session has been completed.

“A three-tier security arrangement has been made and around 25 platoons of police force will be deployed. So far no organisation has sought any permission for protest or rally,” said Sarangi.

Sarangi further stated that the Odisha Assembly session is being held under extra-ordinary circumstances in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We urge everyone not to congregate and cooperate with us. If anybody tries to take law into hands, we will take stern action against them,” warned Sarangi.
