Jagatsinghpur: One person was killed and four others sustained injuries after a minor argument between two families of Baliakani village under Erasama police limits in Jagatsinghpur district turned into a violent clash late last night. The deceased was identified as Rabindra Swain.

According to reports, family members of Rabindra Swain and Guna Naik of the village had an altercation last evening after a goat entered the latter's farm land.

After a few moments, when Rabindra went to Guna's house to inquire about the matter, Guna’s sons launched a murderous attack on Rabindra.

Critical, Rabindra was rushed to the Erasama hospital by his family members where he succumbed to the injuries. Besides, four other persons were also injured and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Sources said the disputed property was a government land and Guna had encroached upon it.
