Party sources rejected reports that Yeddyurappa was summoned by Gadkari for a meeting to clarify his position on the allegations made by Kumaraswamy.
"He had sought an appointment three days back and this is a routine visit. He keeps visiting Delhi periodically," a senior party leader said.
However, no time had been fixed for the meeting between Gadkari and Yeddyurappa and some party leaders said the visit was unannounced.
Yeddyurappa and BJP Karnataka unit president K S Eswarappa have differences over some issues and the former was here to vent his ire in front of Gadkari.
Yeddyurappa dismissed the allegations made by Kumaraswamy as "baseless. The JD(S) leader had alleged that the donation given by him to an educational institution had benefitted him.
"You know very well for these educational institutions, we have given that concession. So, many industries have given donations for education purpose and the trust is no way concerned with anybody else. Nobody has misued that amount," he told a news channel.
Yeddyurappa said his government has decided to file a chargesheet against JD(S) President H D Devegowda and Kumaraswamy.
"That is why unnneccessarily without anything, they are just making irresponsible complaints, they are giving statements in Delhi. There is no basis for that. And they have charged about some institution. You know that the PVC Trust started in Shimoga is for education purpose," Yeddyurappa said.
