The winter chill has finally descended in Odisha with the night temperature dropping below 20 degree Celsius in many places in the State on Thursday.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), 15 towns in Odisha logged night temperature below 20 degree Celsius. Koraput district emerged as the coldest place in the State with the minimum temperature sliding to 14.2 degree Celsius. 

Daringbadi, which is regarded as the Kashmir of Odisha, registered a night temperature of 16 degree Celsius while Boudh, Sonepur and Phulbani saw 17 degree Celsius. 

The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded minimum temperature of 21.1 and 20.6 degree Celsius respectively.

Sharing further update about the weather condition, the IMD's regional centre in Bhubaneswar said that dry weather will prevail in the State in the next 3 to 4 days. It added that there will be no significant change in the day and night temperature.
