Summer arrives! Temperature to rise in Odisha from Feb; check Met predictions

Odisha is set to experience a rise in temperatures from early February, signalling the onset of summer. The Regional Meteorological Department predicts an increase of up to 5°C, with most inland regions affected more than coastal areas. Dense fog warnings have been issued for ten districts.

Met dept predicts higher temp in Odisha

The temperature in Odisha is expected to rise from the first week of February, marking the beginning of summer. According to the Regional Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar, in the next few days, the temperature in the state may increase by 5 degrees Celsius. 

Currently, the night and daytime minimum temperatures are 3-4 degrees higher than normal.

The Meteorological department has also predicted a further rise in temperature over the next five days. Most districts in the state are expected to see an increase in temperature by 3-4 degrees compared to normal. Most inland areas of Odisha are likely to be more affected than the coastal areas. However, the night temperature is predicted to rise unexpectedly along the coastal regions as well.

Any Possibility of Rain in Odisha:

The temperature is expected to remain on the upward scale due to no possibility of rain for another week. However, the department has warned that dense fog is likely to affect the state in the next 2-3 days. 

Yellow alert has been issued due to dense fog over the next 24 hours for 10 districts of Odisha- Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Keonjhar.

The dense fog is expected to affect visibility in some areas, with visibility dropping to as low as 50 meters in certain places. The Met department has also predicted zero visibility in some locations and issued an alert for those areas. The impact of the fog is expected to persist in the state till February 2.
