Rainfall in Bhubaneswar
Odisha is set to experience a welcome decrease in temperature, with the meteorological department predicting a drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius starting from April 1. This cooling trend coincides with forecasts of rain affecting various parts of the state.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a noticeable drop in temperatures across Odisha beginning today, marking a decline of approximately 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. This shift is expected as many regions across the state prepare for rainfall starting 1 April.
Residents in the southern districts of Odisha can expect relief from the current heatwave as light showers are anticipated on 2, 3, and 4 April. The districts of Malkangiri and Koraput are projected to experience these showers beginning on 2 April.
On 3 April, the rainfall is likely to extend to Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Rayagada. By 4 April, further sporadic rainfall is forecasted for parts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, and Rayagada, according to the IMD.
These weather changes are expected to offer some respite from the prevailing heat, with temperatures in these regions dropping by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. Residents in these districts should prepare for a change in weather conditions and may consider carrying umbrellas and rain gear as they go about their daily activities.
Heatwave conditions continued to prevail in several parts of Odisha yesterday as eight places recorded a maximum temperature of above 40 degrees Celsius. Boudh town in western Odisha was the hottest place in the state at 41.8 degrees Celsius.
Moreover, the Meteorological Centre said a day temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda while it was 41.2 degrees Celsius at Sambalpur.
