The Odisha special relief commissioner (SRC) shared a nowcast warning (Orange message) issued by the duty officer of IMD, Bhubaneswar on its Twitter handle on Friday alerting that light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with one or two intense spells of rain is very likely to occur over some parts of the districts of Keonjhar, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Koraput and Malkangiri during next few hours.

The message added that there is likelihood of waterlogging in low lying area, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban area under the impact of the rainfall.

It advised people to avoid movement in affected area and making arrangement for drainage of excess water.

Similarly, the SRC shared a Yellow message stating that light to moderate rain is very likely to occur over some parts of the districts of Puri, Angul, Rayguda, Nabarangpur and Jajpur during next three hours.
