As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), normal life across Odisha was adversely hit following substantial drop in minimum (night) temperature.

Intense cold conditions caused much incontinence, especially in interior and coastal belts of Odisha as the minimum temperature registered a fall of 3 to 4 degree Celsius.

The IMD yesterday had predicted fall in the minimum temperature in the next 24 hours. Similarly there will be no major change in the temperature in different parts of the state in the next few days.

Mild ground frost was also witnessed in several parts of Koida in Sundargarh district today. A thick layer of frost covered trees, vehicles and other articles on the ground creating problems for the residents owing to the freezing conditions here.

As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda recoreded the lowest minimum temperature of 5.6 degree Celcius on Friday night. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 11 and 11.5 degree Celisus respectively.
