The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted a drop in minimum (night) temperature in Odisha in the next 24 hours.

As per latest forecast, the minimum temperature is likely to register a fall by 3 to 4 degree Celsius during next 24 hours. However, there will be no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.01.2023)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Nayagarh, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.01.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 08.01.2023)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal,Cuttack.

Minimum Temperature Forecast & Cold Wave Warning In Other States

Due to approaching of two western disturbances in quick succession, minimum temperatures are very likely to rise gradually by 3-5°C over many parts of Northwest India during next three days and no significant change during subsequent 3 days.

Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in isolated pockets is very likely over Rajasthan and cold wave conditions in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours.

A fall by 2-4 degree Celsius in minimum temperatures is very likely over Bihar during next 2 days and no significant change during subsequent 3 days.
