No change in minimum temp, thunderstorm to lash Odisha districts: IMD issues orange alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted that there will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) in Odisha during the next 4-5 days.

The people across Odisha are now experiencing cooler nights owing to considerable drop in mercury following light to moderate rain triggered by thunderstorm activities in the past several days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted that there will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) in Odisha during the next 4-5 days.

Moreover, several parts of the state are likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning for the next two days. An ‘Orange Warning’ for some districts has also been issued for the next 24 hours.

Weather Forecast

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 24.02.2025)

Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and hail is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore. 

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.02.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 25.02.2025)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar.
