Thunderstorm alert
The well-marked low-pressure area over westcentral and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal persists over the same region with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to middle tropospheric levels, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
As per IMD, it is likely to move nearly northwards during next 12 hours over westcentral Bay of Bengal, maintaining the intensity of well marked low pressure area. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve north-northeastwards and weaken gradually over central Bay of Bengal during subsequent 24 hours.
Weather Forecast For Odisha
As far as Odisha is concerned, the IMD today informed that there will be no large change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 4 to 5 days over the districts of the state. However, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to be equal and above 40 degree C in the isolated pockets districts of Jharsuguda, Bolangir, Boudh.
The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm activities in several parts of Odisha till April 16, 2025.
