Low Pressure To Trigger Heavy Rain In Odisha
A low pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal (BoB) and adjoining areas of West Bengal under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over south Bangladesh and adjoining gangetic West Bengal on Friday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that the low pressure area is likely to become more marked. The system is likely to move west-north west wards across gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand during the next 2 to 3 days, said IMD.
As per IMD, several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities today and in the next 24 hours as well.
Several parts of Odisha continued to experience light to moderate rain and thunderstorm activities since Thursday night. Normal life in some parts of the state was affected due to continuous downpour on Friday morning.
The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also experienced rainfall activities in the past 24 hours. However, there has been no report of waterlogging in the low-lying pockets in Cuttack.
