A Low Pressure area is likely to form over south Andaman Sea around November 29, 2021. It is likely to become more marked and move west-north-westwards during subsequent 48 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
As per IMD, isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on November 29 and 30. Similarly, squally weather with maximum sustained wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail over the Andaman Sea and neighbourhood from November 29 to December 2, 2021.
A cyclonic circulation lies over Comorin Area and adjoining Sri Lanka coasts and strong northeasterly winds are prevailing over Tamil Nadu coast and south coastal Andhra Pradesh at lower levels.
Under its influence:
-Light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep area and Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema during next 4- 5 days.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during November 26 and 29. Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over north Tamil Nadu today. Isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over Kerala, Mahe, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema during the same period.
IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar today stated that the weather will mostly remain dry in Odisha and no rainfall warning has been issued.
“Minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to fall by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during next 2 days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” tweeted the regional met centre.
