A cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean and a low pressure is likely to form over the same region during next 48 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, the system is very likely to move north-westwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts during November 9 to November 11, 2022.

Under its influence, widespread, light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall/ thunderstorm/lightning is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during November 10 -12 and over Rayalaseema and south Andhra Pradesh on November 11 and 12.

Similarly, isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Rayalaseema and south Andhra Pradesh on November 11 and 12.

Wind Speed

Squally winds speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph very likely to prevail over Southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka coasts on November 10, over Southwest Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar, along and off Tamil Nadu-south Andhra Pradesh on November 11 & 12. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during the same period.
