  • The IMD has issued yellow warning predicting heavy rainfall in some places in the State till July 30, 2021.

A Low Pressure area has formed over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the same region, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

The fresh low pressure system is likely to trigger light to moderate and heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours. The IMD has issued yellow warning predicting heavy rainfall in some places in the State till July 30, 2021.

The IMD has also warned fishermen not to venture into North Bay of Bengal between July 28 and 30 as a precautionary measure as squally wind reaching upto a speed of 40-50 kmph is likely to prevail during this time.

On Monday, the IMD had issued a warning for thunderstorm and heavy rainfall in several parts of the Odisha.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 28.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur and Bhadrak. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh and Sonepur.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Dhenkanal. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh and Sambalpur.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bargarh and Dhenkanal.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Keonjhar. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Angul
