The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said southwest Monsoon has further advanced into most parts of Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh and coastal Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of northwest Bay of Bengal, entire Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal today.

As per IMD, the west coast in the country is expected to witness an intense spell of rainfall during next five days.

Similarly, thunderstorm activity accompanied by isolated heavy showers is likely to continue over North, Central and East India during the next two days.

Forecast and warning:

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan and Goa, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Mahe, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka and Gujarat region during next 5 days.

North interior Karnataka, Saurashtra on June 23 and 24 , coastal Andhra Pradesh during June 20 to June 22 and over Telangana & Rayalaseema on June 21, 2022.

Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Konkan & Goa during next 5 days, over coastal Karnataka on June 22 and 23.

Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning is very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during next 5 days.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over West Madhya Pradesh on June 20; East Madhya Pradesh on June 20 and 21; Vidarbha during June 21 and 24.

Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during next 5 days. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Bihar on June 20 and 24.
