The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a drop in the minimum (night) temperature in several parts of Odisha in the coming days.

As per the IMD forecast issued on Friday, there will be no major change in the minimum temperature during the next two days. However, the minimum temperature is likely to gradually fall by 3 to 4 degree Celsius in the subsequent 2 to 3 days at many places in Odisha.

Keonjhar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13.5 degrees on Friday night. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 16.8 and 18.1 degree Celsius, respectively.

The IMD has also predicted that dry weather is likely to prevail over the districts of the state. There could be some disruptions in the movement of vehicle traffic due to shallow to moderate fog over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge in south Andaman Sea around December 4, 2022. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea by December 5, 2022.

“It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal by December 7 morning. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal near north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by December 8 morning,” said IMD.
