A fresh spell of heavy rainfall is likely to hit East India from September 29, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around September 29. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over north Andaman Sea & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during subsequent 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards with possibility of gradual intensification.

The IMD further informed that conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of northwest and adjoining western India during the next 2-3 days.

South India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Tamil Nadu during 26th-30th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 26 and 30

West India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra during September 26-29 and Marathwada on September 26

Central India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Chhattisgarh on September 30.
