The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Thursday predicted heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha.

A yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for 14 districts of the state in the next 24 hours. The warning has been issued for Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Boudh, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

Earlier, the IMD had predicted rain and thunderstorm activities in several parts of the country.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Boudh, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Bargarh.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.06.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at few places over the districts of Odisha.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada.
