Heavy rain alert for 12 districts in Odisha; Check full IMD forecast

The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall in 12 districts of Odisha.

As per the latest forecast, the heavy rainfall alert has been issued for the districts- Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khordha over next 24 hours.

At present, a cyclonic circulation lies over East Jharkhand and adjoining north Odisha between 1.5 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. Apart from Odisha, heavy rainfall alert has also been issued by IMD for other states.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Khordha.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 23.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2022)

 Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Bargarh, Deogarh.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam,Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.06.2022)

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Bolangir.
