India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted that intense rainfall activity will continue along west coast in the country during the next five days.

Already several parts of the country- Jammu & Kashmir, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa experienced isolated very heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours.

Other states like Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Jharkhand, Marathawada and Odisha experienced heavy rainfall activities in the past 24 hours.

Forecast & warnings for rainfall/thunderstorm:

Widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Kerala & Mahe and Lakshadweep and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is likely over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during next 5 days.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe during next 5 days. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on June 22, 2022.

Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Konkan and Goa during next 5 days and over coastal Karnataka during June 22- 24.

Under the influence of southerly/southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal to Northeast and adjoining East India:

Widespread rainfall is very likely over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during next 5 days.

Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on June 25 and 26.

Fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning is very likely to continue over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Gangetic West Bengal during next 5 days.
