The Low Pressure area over southwest Bihar and neighbourhood now lies over west Bihar and adjoining east Uttar Pradesh, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per IMD, there will be drastic reduction in moisture due to the establishment of westerly and north-westerly winds at lower and middle tropospheric levels over northwest India and development of lower level anti-cyclonic circulation over the region from October 5, 2021

“Under its influence, drastic reduction in moisture and absence of rainfall over extreme north western parts of India is very likely. Thus conditions are very likely to be favourable for commencement of withdrawal of southwest monsoon from some parts of northwest India from around October 6, 2021,” said IMD.

However, several parts of Odisha will experience rain and thunderstorm activities till October 5, 2021.
