Orange Alert Issued For Odisha Districts
Several parts of Odisha on Saturday experienced large-scale destruction caused by Kalbaisakhi also known as Nor’wester. However, it has brought the maximum temperature considerably down in several pockets of the state.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange warning for thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and hailstorm in several districts of Odisha.
IMD has clearly stated that there will be no large change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next 4-5 days over the districts of Odisha.
Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 14.04.2025)
Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and hailstorm is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at a few places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Balasore .
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak.
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Cuttack,Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.04.2025)
