The Southwest monsoon has been active over Odisha and several parts of the State are experiencing enhanced rainfall activities for the past few days.

India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday informed that yesterday's low pressure area over north Odisha and neighbourhood now lies over coastal Odisha and neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation.

Under the influence of low pressure area and strong monsoon flow, squally weather with gusty surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph very likely over sea off Odisha coast adjoining west-central and North-west Bay of Bengal till July 16, 2022.

Weather Forecast and Warning: Day-1: (Valid up to 0830 Hrs IST of 16.07.22)

Orange warning (Be prepared) Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh and Bargarh.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur and Jharsuguda.

Day-2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 16.07.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 17.07.22.)

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur and Dhenkanal. Day-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 17.07.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 18.07.22)
