Bhubaneswar: Amid a trail of destruction left by Cyclone Tauktae, the India Meteorological Department on Tuesday indicated development of a fresh cyclonic system in the Bay of Bengal.

Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Madhavan Rajeevan today tweeted, “Early indication of another system over Bay of Bengal around 23rd May!”

Rajeevan congratulated IMD and the support of IITM Pune, NCMRWF and INCOIS, MoES for a perfect forecast of Tauktae, its track & landfall location, time & intensity.

The Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD in Bhubaneswar has predicted that a low pressure is likely to form in the East Central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around May 23.
