The southwest monsoon has further advanced into entire Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, some parts of Rajasthan, entire Delhi, some parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

The conditions are favourable for further advancement of monsoon into some more parts of Rajasthan, entire Punjab and Haryana during the next 24-hours.

Heavy rainafall alert has also been sounded for several districts in Odisha.

Rainfall/thunderstorm forecast & warnings:

Light/moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Uttarakhand, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh on June 30 and July 1.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over Himachal Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh on June 30; Uttarakhand and Rajasthan on June 30 and July 1.

Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during the next five days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely over West Madhya Pradesh on June 30 and July 1.

Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning is very likely to continue over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during next 4-5 days.

Under the influence of the off-shore trough at mean sea level from south Gujarat coast to north Karnataka coast and strong westerly/south westerly winds along the west coast in lower tropospheric levels, isolated heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Gujarat Region during June 30- July 3.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over Konkan and Goa during June 30-July 2 and over Coastal Karnataka on June 30, 2022.
