Heat wave conditions from March 13; IMD issues yellow alert for Odisha districts
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed that maximum temperatures were below normal by about 2 degree C at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, and above normal by about 2 to 3 degree C at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha in the past 24 hours.
In its latest forecast, IMD informed that the maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to gradually rise by 2 to 3 degrees C during the next five days over the districts of Odisha in the coming days.
The IMD has also predicted heat wave conditions in some parts of Odisha from March 13, 2025. A yellow warning has also been issued for several districts.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.03.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.03.2025)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.03.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.03.2025)
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Angul ,Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh ,S undargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
