The Depression over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining southeast Madhya Pradesh & Vidarbha moved nearly northwestwards and weakened into a Well Marked Low pressure area today over southeast Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood. 

As per IMD, the system is likely to move nearly northwestwards across Madhya Pradesh during next 48 hours.

Uma Shankar Das, Scientist IMD Bhubaneswar said under the influence of the depression, the wind speed is likely to remain high in some parts of Odisha including Bhubaneswar, Paradip and Puri.

Squally weather (wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) are very likely to prevail over northwest and westcentral Bay of Bengal and along and off North Andhra Pradesh, Odisha & West Bengal coasts today and off North Andhra Pradesh & Odisha coasts on September 13, 2022.

The fishermen have been warned not to venture the sea till September 13, said Das.

According to IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, light to moderate rainfall will continue in several parts of Odisha in coming days. However, there will be a slight drop in rainfall activities from tomorrow.

“The southwest monsoon will again be active after the formation of a cyclonic circulation/low pressure in second week of this month between September 16 and 22,” said Das.

Day-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 13.09.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 14.09.22)
