Heat wave conditions are likely to abate from East India except interior Odisha from tomorrow onwards, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
As per the IMD, a cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam and neighbourhood in the lower tropospheric level. Under its influence, scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall/snowfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) likely over Arunachal Pradesh during the next seven days with isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall likely on March 17.
Similarly, isolated to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (speed 30-50 kmph) likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely during the next seven days.

Due to trough and wind confluence over East India in lower tropospheric levels, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning,g and gusty winds likely over east central India is likely during 19th -23rd March with peak activity on 20th & 21st March. Isolated hailstorms is also likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha on the 20th & 21st of March.
Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions is likely to continue at isolated pockets over the interior Odisha on 17th March and heat wave conditions at isolated pockets during the subsequent 2 days.
